What we build outside
- Natural stone terraces and walkways
- Interlock patios and driveways
- Retaining walls, engineered where height requires it
- Decks in composite or hardwood, pergolas and covered porches
- Outdoor kitchens with stone counters, grills and fire features
- Backyard wellness: saunas, cold plunges and hot tub pads with power and drainage
- Landscape lighting, lawns and plantings
Built for freeze and thaw
Stone and interlock fail from the ground up. Water gets into a weak base, freezes, lifts the surface and leaves it uneven by spring. We excavate below the topsoil, build a compacted granular base sized for the use, slope everything away from the house, and edge-restrain the surface so it stays put.
Saunas, plunges and hot tubs
These need a level structural pad, a dedicated electrical circuit by our licensed electrical partners, drainage for the water, and privacy planned from inside the house. We build the whole corner so it works in February, not only in July.
Plan the yard with the house
On custom homes and additions, we plan grading, drainage, any geothermal loop field and the outdoor rooms before landscaping starts, so nothing finished gets dug up later.
We work across Northumberland County (Colborne, Cobourg, Port Hope, Brighton), Quinte, Peterborough and the Kawarthas, with Barrie from early 2027.
Questions, answered
Water in a weak or shallow base freezes and expands. A deep, compacted granular base, good drainage and edge restraint keep stone and interlock level.
Usually for decks attached to the house or higher than about 60 cm above grade, and for pergolas and covered porches in many municipalities. We check yours.
Yes. We build the pad, run power through our licensed electrical partners, handle drainage and finish the space around it.
Yes. Low-voltage path and uplighting, planned with the hardscape so cables are buried before stone goes down.
